Big Box on a Sick Day
May 30th, 2007 by Edward Pollard
Off to the doctors this morning to see why I’ve been feeling so exhausted lately. Got some tests, some pills, and a day off work as he literally prescribed a nap. Like I’m not behind the ball enough at work, but hey, doctors orders.
I was resting peacefully when the doorbell rang. I thought it was perhaps some confused Mormons, but it was nice lady from Canada Post with a big box.

A big box of games!
I’d purchased these titles from US-only website Tanga.com, which specializes in clearing out games that are only so-so. Someone I knew was ordering these games to a US address for importing to Canada and I hopped on the bandwagon.

With the extra shipping and handling and hassle it really didn’t turn out to be that hot a deal. Something like $100 total for the stack you see here, and none of them are all that great. I am proactively trying to move away from hoarding stuff and into buying things that have actual value, and this experience just underscores all the motivations for doing so. I don’t know how other people aren’t motivated to do the same, but when I chat this up around the fandom people seem to think I’m off my rocker for suggesting moderation.
But now I’m going to go do something I’ve not done in years: go sit outside, in the sun, and read a book.
