Dear Apple Inc., I <3 U

Tonight I spent the evening working with some friends on a slideshow presentation for an upcomming wedding. The bride provided a collection of images collected from both sides of the wedding party and I provided my knowledge, knowhow, and most importantly my Mac.

I’m not going to say what we did tonight could not have been done on a Windows based computer, but we went from absolutely nothing to a prototype DVD presentation in about 15 minutes, and that smooth efficiency is something that is dreadfully hard to replicated on a Windows platform. Strictly speaking, with a bit of time and patience, I didn’t even need to be involved in this project. iPhoto and iDVD did all of the hard work. I just took the credit.
I grew up in a Mac using family, and only bought Macs for my family when they switched to Intel processors and I was guaranteed the flexibility of returning to Windows when required (read: video games). Having done so, I find I spend so little time in Windows as to make its hard drive footprint almost onerous. The Apple experience for day to day computer use is extremely elegant and very satisfying. And while the capabilities of the iLife suite are limited in customization, this DVD project is going to really knock the socks off the “client”.
I’m glad to see more people looking at Macs as options these days. They are really quite lovely pieces of technology to spend time with. If you’ve ever contemplated the idea try of Mac ownership be sure to check one out before your next computer purchase.
You know, I’ve considered getting a Mac in the past, but I’m really pretty content with XP these days. I can appreciate a Mac, but I just don’t think it’s “for me”.
I would possibly get a mac laptop, however
I can’t believe that I was the “Windows” guy when we were growing up… Apple all the way - I love my Macs.
