Spam Magnet!
Mar 27th, 2008 by Edward Pollard
There are many reasons I make a poor blogger. I suppose the biggest would be my lack of frequent updates. After that, I suppose it would be that my updates tend to be short. Indeed, they may come across as feeling obligatory, as if existing just to fill the void that otherwise exists without their arbitrary creation.
And allow me to assure you that if they ever come across as existing solely to make the last posted date on my blog closer to what the common time traveller would refer to as ‘now’, well, thats probably pretty much exactly true sometimes.
I will go on at length at a future time about how I have no idea how bloggers brains work. Nor the brains of blog consumers, but today I dwell on the automatic processes in place that vomit spam onto the blogs of the world. Despite being utterly irrelevant, my blog gets spam.

Oh, its almost entirely filtered by the technologies of the day that run this blog and never sees the light of day, but I get it all the same. And the part that amazes me, indeed the part that makes me sit up at night and marvel at the complexities of the multiverse, is that its always the same blog post that gets spam.
I suppose there is some magical algorithm, something to do with page rank or inbound links, that would explain this. I understand it not. All I know is that this post gets spammed daily. Usually more than once daily. This makes me constantly remember that the title of the blog post was a deliberate lie based on a private in-joke with my wife surrounding something we read on the sexual uses of ginger.
You can google that your damn self if that piques your interest, you pervert.
Ha! I guess that’s what you get for being a pervy bastard.
I don’t know who ‘Teh Wife’ is, but I agree with them.
[…] And I swear it has only gotten worse since I wrote the post earlier this week. […]
